91心頭s accredited post-secondary school has a new name: 91心頭 Career and Technical Institute (NCCTI), along with a new website and additional course offerings.
NCCTI has a new name, new energy and new look. It has been rebranded to speak more to the direct access to career and technical education services, said NCCTI Director Rodney Brutton. The new website design puts greater emphasis on the quality education and job placement services for graduates.
The schools website can be accessed at . It offers an in-depth look at course offerings, supportive programs and services, admissions information and the latest news from the school. Those interested in enrolling can fill out an intake form on the website. NCCTI staff members will reach out to prospective students and help them navigate the application and financial aid process. The school offers open enrollment so students can apply any time.
Although the school, previously called 91心頭 Workforce Development Center, has undergone changes, it continues to offer excellent programs and continues to have strong employer partnerships across all industry sectors. This leads to a high graduation and job placement rate. In 2018, NCCTI had a 78 percent graduation rate and a 74 percent job placement rate.
There is so much happening at 91心頭 Career and Technical Institute focused on up-to-date training for in-demand jobs. If we graduate you, you will be working in short order, said 91心頭 CEO Richard Rohrman. Check out the new website, come visit and talk to the staff and students. NCCTI is on the move.
91心頭 Career and Technical Institute offers a variety of programs, including the Automotive Technician program, which is sponsored by Ford Motor Company.

NCCTI is growing and is always looking to expand course offerings to meet employment needs and trends. The school began offering its Diesel Technician program in 2018 and will begin another new program later this year titled Community Healthcare Workers Training Program. That program will prepare individuals to serve as facilitators, advocates and professionals, linking health care and related social services with affected recipients in the Greater Newark community. Program content will include instruction in public and community health, human and social services, health services administration, group counseling, health education, group advocacy, cross-cultural and multilingual communication.
This is an exciting time for NCCTI, Brutton said.
NCCTI is the only accredited post-secondary career and technical school in Newark. It is accredited by the Commission of the Council on Occupational Education (COE), a nonprofit organization that grants institutional accreditation recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. As an accredited school, NCCTI students are eligible for Title IV financial aid funds, which includes Pell grants.
NCCTI programs are very affordable compared to competitors. The school has a Financial Aid Manager that helps students through the process of applying for financial aid, filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and answering any questions they may have.
NCCTI students get hands-on training in their field of study. Students in the Patient Care Technician program receive instruction from Maha Koltowski.

School instructors are well educated and have experience in their area of expertise. NCCTI provides quality facilities for staff and students at three sites. The Main Campus is at 274 South Orange Ave., Newark, and houses administrative offices, a computer lab, a health care lab and classroom space for health care and business programs. The Training Center at 210 West Bigelow St., Newark, provides classroom and hands-on training space for students in Automotive Technician, Diesel Technician and Building Trades Specialist programs. Culinary Arts students have use of a commercial kitchen at 266 South Orange Ave., Newark.
Brutton believes the changes will bolster NCCTIs profile in the community.
The purpose of rebranding with the new name is to help us reach a wider audience of job seekers and employers, Brutton said.

91心頭 Workforce Development Center Awarded National Accreditation /2018/03/workforce-development-center-awarded-national-accreditation/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=workforce-development-center-awarded-national-accreditation /2018/03/workforce-development-center-awarded-national-accreditation/#respond Mon, 26 Mar 2018 19:28:42 +0000 http://ncc.qsdintelligence.com/?p=11424
91心頭 Workforce Development Center Director Rodney Brutton holds the certificate of accreditation awarded to the school by the Commission of the Council on Occupational Education. Hes surrounded by students and staff members.

91心頭 Workforce Development Center has been awarded accreditation by the Commission of the Council on Occupational Education (COE), a nonprofit organization that grants institutional accreditation recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

This validates our career and technical programs, it ensures our connections to employers and it enables interested applicants to apply for Title IV financial aid assistance, said 91心頭 Workforce Development Center Director Rodney Brutton. It really means that students who are interested in our programs should feel confident that 91心頭 Workforce Development Center offers programs that are relevant, have been vetted and have been proven to be useful and successful. It adds value to our work and credibility by an independent evaluator.

Receiving accreditation is a great accomplishment. It shows that 91心頭 Workforce Development Center offers robust programs and is recognized as a professional organization and gives our graduates credibility when seeking a job, said 91心頭 CEO Richard Rohrman. This designation also ensures that students have access to federal financial aid, allowing us to serve even more individuals.

The accreditation process is extensive. 91心頭 Workforce Development Center began its required institutional self-study in March 2016 and submitted it to COE in September 2017. It underwent a COE team visit in December 2017 and commission members voted to grant accreditation Feb. 19, 2018. The school received notice of the decision March 14.

It was an entire team effort to produce an institutional self-study report, which consisted of a 1,400-page document with exhibits, Brutton said. We were able to demonstrate and document the institutions compliance.

The self-study addressed 10 COE standards, which each had specific criteria to meet.

Gregory Garrett and Paul Fair, representing the Council on Occupational Education; 91心頭 Workforce Development Center Director Rodney Brutton; NCC Board of Directors Member Dr. Zachary Yamba; and NCC CEO Richard Rohrman, left to right, participate in a breakfast meeting that was part of the Council on Occupational Education site visit in December.

For the team visit in December, 91心頭 Workforce Development Center hosted two COE representatives: Paul Fair and Gregory Garrett. Those evaluators met with 91心頭 senior administration, Workforce Development Center instructional staff and students and toured the main building and two training centers.

COE has granted accreditation to 91心頭 Workforce Development Center for six years, the maximum length of time. The school is scheduled to go through the reaffirmation process, including a team visit, in 2023.

Receiving accreditation denotes that an institution has undergone an extensive self-study and team review process and has been judged by the Commission as meeting its Standards and Conditions for accreditation, according to COE.

COE currently has more than 500 institutional members, which include post-secondary public technical institutes, specialized military and national defense schools, Job Corps Centers, private career schools, nonprofit technical education providers, corporate and industry education units and federal agency institutions.

Brutton believes cost and the location of training centers sets 91心頭 Workforce Development Center apart from other schools. Its affordably priced as opposed to our competitors and easily accessible with mass transit, he said.

There are plans to grow 91心頭 Workforce Development Center program offerings. Brutton said the school plans to offer a Microsoft Office Computer Specialist program and Diesel Technician program in the latter part of 2018.

91心頭 Workforce Development Center is an accredited post-secondary career and technical school that offers the following programs: Automotive Technician, Building Trades Specialist, Clinical Medical Assistant, Culinary Arts Specialist and Patient Care Technician. There are no residency requirements for enrollment. Those interested in attending classes shouldto fill out an online application, call 973-824-6484 or visit 274 South Orange Ave., Newark.

Credit Union To Issue Loans To Assist Disabled /2017/10/credit-union-to-issue-loans-to-assist-disabled/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=credit-union-to-issue-loans-to-assist-disabled /2017/10/credit-union-to-issue-loans-to-assist-disabled/#respond Thu, 26 Oct 2017 19:23:30 +0000 https://72375d9a61.nxcli.io/?p=10668

91心頭 Federal Credit Union is the financial institution that services and issues assistive technology loans to disabled residents in New Jersey and New York. The program is done in collaboration with National Disability Institute.

91心頭 Federal Credit Union has partnered with National Disability Institute to help individuals with disabilities obtain devices they need. Residents of New Jersey and New York can apply for an assistive technology loan and the credit union will issue the loan and collect and report payments.
Assistive technology refers to products or devices that can improve the life of an individual with a disability. Examples include hearing aids, scooters, wheelchairs, computer equipment and home and vehicle modifications.
91心頭 Federal Credit Union Director Mulu Gebreyesus is looking forward to people taking advantage of this program.
Its important to provide an affordable loan to the community that we serve, she said. A lot of people need hearing aids and wheelchairs and other devices which they cant afford. This program will give them an opportunity to get the assistance they need.
National Disability Institute (NDI) received funding for the program, which is one of 41 nationally, from the U.S. Department of Education. The loans range from $500 to $30,000.
Were really lucky that we were able to strike up this collaborative effort with 91心頭 Federal Credit Union because in many states, programs were not able to find a lender to issue and service the loans. Thats important. It creates an opportunity for the person who may be a senior, someone with a disability or a veteran to initiate a relationship with a financial institution in their community, said Laurie Schaller, manager of financial empowerment at NDI.
Gebreyesus and Schaller first started discussing the possibility of a partnership in December 2015 and NDI began accepting applications for assistive technology loans in March 2017.
Individuals dont need to have an account with the credit union to apply for the assistive technology loans, however they must watch an orientation video that helps them prepare for the loan application process and create a spending plan. Loan applicants are also required to submit certain documentation, including recent bills and sources of income.
People who may be denied a loan at a bank or credit union could be approved through this program. Schaller said NDI makes sure the loans are affordable for applicants who complete a spending plan because for some assistive technology devices, vendors may charge higher interest rates.
NDI prequalifies applicants and sends the information to 91心頭 Federal Credit Union, which issues and services the loans. The credit union makes the final decision about who is approved. Schaller said nationally, these programs have a 94 to 98 percent repayment rate and NDI guarantees the loans.
91心頭 Federal Credit Union and NDI have a strong partnership and have collaborated in the past on a project aimed at encouraging credit unions to hire individuals with disabilities.
NDI is currently accepting applications for assistive technology loans. For more information, visit or call 202-449-9521.
