Program participants and staff members brought 15 baskets to Harmony House on Nov. 25, along with additional items to be handed out to families ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday. 91心頭 thanks Spectrum360 and its members for their generosity.

Harmony House, 91心頭s transitional housing facility for homeless families, also received donations during the holiday season to benefit its families.

NCCTI is an accredited post-secondary career and technical institution that is currently enrolling for the following programs: Automotive Technician, Building Trades Specialist, Medical Assistant Clinical, Patient Care Technician and Culinary Arts Specialist. NCCTI also operates a comprehensive Financial Opportunity Center and Bridges to Career Opportunities Program sponsored by the local and national Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) offices.

She finds out what the children would like for the holidays and communicates that to donors who purchase items.

These generous supporters of 91心頭 and St. Rose of Lima parish allowed Wilson to distribute more than 2,000 gifts to families this season.

It is a joy to me when I see so many children in need smiling from ear to ear, Wilson said.

In addition to the annual toy drive, Wilson also coordinates a turkey drive so that families can prepare a traditional Thanksgiving meal.

Donors Generosity Ensures Happy Thanksgiving for 91心頭 Families /2022/11/donors-generosity-ensures-happy-thanksgiving-for-new-community-families/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=donors-generosity-ensures-happy-thanksgiving-for-new-community-families /2022/11/donors-generosity-ensures-happy-thanksgiving-for-new-community-families/#respond Mon, 28 Nov 2022 15:46:35 +0000 /?p=22363 Over the years, individuals, churches and organizations have contributed food for Thanksgiving meals that benefit residents of 91心頭. 91心頭 Board Member and Outreach Coordinator Madge Wilson organizes the contributions to ensure the food gets to those who need it most.

One of the sponsors is St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Short Hills, which partners with its sister church, St. Rose of Lima in Newark. St. Rose of Lima parishioners in Short Hills sponsored a turkey drive this year to benefit residents of Newark. Mike Roberts, a member of the church, coordinated the turkey distribution, along with other volunteers. A local Girl Scout troop also helped with the project.

The families were so very appreciative for the turkeys, Wilson said.

Another supporter for the Thanksgiving holiday was Kathryn Grifonetti of Old Tappan. She donated turkeys and other Thanksgiving food for 91心頭 residents.

This lady is one of the kindest, most thoughtful and generous people that I have ever met, Wilson said, explaining that Grifonetti donates throughout the year.

91心頭 is grateful for all of its donors and supporters.
