The Security and Resident Services departments at 91��Ƭ hosted a Family Movie Night on Aug. 15. Children received school supplies, enjoyed snacks and took pictures in front of a balloon banner at 220 Bruce St., Newark. We thank the organizers and all the families who came out. We hope everyone had a great time!

91��Ƭ Resident Celebrates 101st Birthday

Very few people can call themselves centenarians. Douglas Homes resident Annie Jemison is one of them. She turned 101 years old on March 1. 91��Ƭ hosted a celebration for her in the Community Room of Douglas Homes, 15 Hill St., Newark, on March 3. Walter Bryant of Newark Council President C. Lawrence Crump’s office presented Jemison with a proclamation from the city and she was surrounded by friends, family and 91��Ƭ staff members. Everyone in attendance enjoyed lunch and cake in honor of the birthday girl. We wish Ms. Jemison a wonderful year ahead!

91��Ƭ Manor Family Hosts Cleanup Day for Residents

91��Ƭ Manor Family at 225 Hunterdon St., Newark, hosted Cleanup Day on July 26. Residents were encouraged to clean and beautify the areas outside their homes. They also received bags of food as well as toys and clothing for children.

91��Ƭ hosted a pop-up event in the Manor Family courtyard at 225 Hunterdon St., Newark, on Sept. 1. Employees handed out free food, information about NCC programs and services and backpacks for the children. We thank everyone who participated.

Gardens Senior, 265 Morris Ave., Newark, was the site of a health fair for residents on May 18. Those living in the building came down to the Community Room and were able to get health screenings and receive health information, food and giveaways. Thank you to , the , and for participating.

Newark Councilman Dupré Kelly Visits 91��Ƭ Residents

Residents of Roseville Senior, 1 South Eighth St., Newark, got to visit with West Ward Councilman Dupré Kelly on May 11. He visited the building to distribute food, Mother’s Day presents and flowers. He also spoke to residents and encouraged them to attend the on May 20.

Essex County Officials Distribute Food at 91��Ƭ Orange Senior

Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo Jr., Essex County Director of the Department of Citizen Services Anibal Ramos Jr. and Essex County Director of the Office of Senior Services Maurice J. Brown came to Orange Senior, 132 William St., Orange, on May 4 to distribute food boxes to building residents. 91��Ƭ CEO Simone Gagneron assisted with the distribution and thanked officials for their continued support of our senior residents. The food boxes were provided on behalf of the Essex County Executive and the Board of County Commissioners.
